Review of Rolife Free Time Books DIY Miniature House Kit
I have had my eye on Rolife Miniature House Kits for a while now. After I finished my Island Holiday Book Nook Kit I started looking at which Rolife Kit I wanted to do first.
I decided on the Free Time Books Miniature House Kit and grabbed it from my local Joann Fabrics. (You can also get it from Amazon here: Free Time Books)
My Review
This is the first Rolife set I have done. They offer different levels of DIY from simply snapping pieces together like a puzzle, to painting and building each item. This set leans more towards the latter.
While there is no painting required, there is a considerable amount of cutting and gluing. There is also quite a bit of work with wire.
If you are looking for something that can be done quickly, this is not it. However, the way the instruction breakdown makes it easy to pause between steps and put away if necessary. I took my time and spread the process over a couple days. But in the end the total time it took me to assemble is between 3-4 hours.
I liked the instructions and felt they did a good job explaining each step. My only issue is that the measurements are all in millimeters, and the only ruler I have with mm measurements is my old sewing measuring tape.
Overall, I would recommend this kit to someone who is ready to move up from beginner kits or already enjoys advanced kits with lots of steps.
